Hi! My name is Emmy and I’m an avid crafter.
My mam taught me to cross stitch when I was around 7 – I even remember my first kit, it was a red pram just sitting on some grass. Over the years, I have cross stitched here and there but began to put more time into it in 2010. As I started taking part in exchanges, I realised that I wanted to experiment with different ways of finishing cross stitch and one of those was to get a sewing machine and attempt pincushions. From pincushions, I bravely attempted a bag, a dress and some cute toys and from there I developed a love for sewing.
I have a Janome SMD 3000 and a Brother 1034D overlocker in my sewing arsenal beside the handy and well used seam ripper. In my love for crafting, I had collected some knit and crochet magazines along with the yarn that came with it and decided last year to make a proper go of crochet after half-hearted attempts in previous years. As you may have seen on the blog, I am a member of a couple of affiliate programmes. This means that if you click the banners, logos or starred links on my page or in my posts that I will receive a commission if you place an order on that site. I have made purchases on these sites before and would do so again, I won’t advertise a company or product that I haven’t tried myself or have felt was unsatisfactory. Casa Cenina* are an Italian based company that sell a manner of items related to cross stitch from patterns to threads, needles and even pretty backing fabric. Love Crochet* are a a company that sell crochet and knitting items (if you couldn’t already tell). They have warehouses in the UK and the US so just be warned that there may be some items that will take longer to arrive if it’s coming from the other warehouse. I placed an order that contained a Lion Brand yarn, the parts that were in the UK warehouse were not held up while I waited for the products that were in the US warehouse.
